Russia recently commented on the ongoing tensions between Ukraine and the U.S., particularly following Ukrainian President Zelensky’s visit to the U.S. and his meeting with President Trump. During the meeting, Trump expressed frustration with Zelensky’s lack of gratitude and refusal to negotiate a ceasefire with Russia. Trump even suggested pausing military aid to Ukraine, a move that Russia’s Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, supported, calling it a step toward peace.
Zelensky responded by reading a letter to Congress, stating Ukraine is ready for peace talks under Trump’s leadership and emphasized the country’s gratitude for U.S. support. He also mentioned Ukraine’s readiness to sign a deal on rare earth minerals with the U.S.
